Software Engineer, Embedded Systems Location:

Chandler, AZ About the Role As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will help design, develop, and deliver high-performance embedded software solutions for advanced technology platforms. You will collaborate closely with systems, hardware, and software engineers throughout the product lifecycle to build reliable, scalable, and real-time software systems. In this role, you will contribute to software architecture, implementation, testing, and integration activities while helping ensure product quality, performance, and compliance with engineering standards. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software solutions for real-time systems.
• Translate system and software requirements into scalable and maintainable software designs.
• Develop, test, debug, and optimize C/C++ applications running on Linux and RTOS environments.
• Participate in software architecture, detailed design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions.
• Create and execute unit, integration, and system-level test plans.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software with hardware and broader system components.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues across software, hardware, and system boundaries.
• Ensure compliance with software engineering standards, quality processes, and best practices.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across development, testing, and deployment activities. Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience with object-oriented software development using C/C++ in Linux-based environments.
• Experience developing, debugging, and testing embedded real-time software.
• Experience working with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as VxWorks, Integrity, LynxOS, Yocto Linux, or similar platforms.
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances and work authorization as needed. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with PowerPC, ARM, and/or RISC-V processor architectures.
• Experience developing software for safety-critical or mission-critical systems.
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and computer-in-the-loop (CIL) testing environments.
• Experience integrating embedded software with complex hardware and system interfaces.
• Experience designing and developing software interfaces for large-scale system integration efforts.
