  • Competitive (including bonus) Role summary We are seeking a highly skilled Scala Developer to join our Technology team.
In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain high-performance APIs, backend components, and integrations that power our application platform. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Scala , Java , and MySQL , with a passion for building scalable and reliable software solutions. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, high-performance applications using Scala . Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and microservices. Develop and optimize database solutions using MySQL . Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve application performance and reliability issues. Participate in code reviews and contribute to software design and development best practices. Support CI/CD implementation and deployment automation initiatives Required 6+ years of overall IT industry experience, with strong expertise in software development. Strong programming experience in Scala , and familiarity with Scala frameworks. Good working knowledge of Java and backend application development. Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Functional Programming (FP) concepts. Experience designing and developing scalable, high-performance applications and services. Strong knowledge of MySQL , including database design, query optimization, and performance tuning. Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices. Experience with version control systems such as Git. Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps. Experience in the banking and financial services domain is preferred.
