As an Sales Application Engineer, you'll play a key role in amazing projects around the Bay Area. We are seeking a Sales Application Engineer to support the engineering sales team by providing technical expertise and assisting with HVAC equipment selections for a variety of commercial and industrial applications. The ideal candidate will have an engineering degree and a solid understanding of HVAC systems with experience in the industry. This role involves close collaboration with the outside sales team, internal engineering support, and manufacturer application teams to develop accurate selections for hydronic and airside equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Leverage Norman S Wrights vast product portfolio and strong product specialist support to provide best-in-class solutions for customers. This role focuses on technical application engineering support rather than administrative responsibilities such as order entry, invoices, shipment tracking, warranty management. Provide technical guidance on a wide array of applied and commodity HVAC equipment including custom air handlers, chillers, pumps, VRV, packaged heat pumps, boilers, cooling towers, fans, air distribution, VFDs, humidification products, and energy recovery. Interface daily with the outside sales team, manufacturers, internal product support specialists, consulting engineers, and contractors to support the selection, design, and application of HVAC equipment. Support the sales cycle from conceptual design through installation, troubleshooting technical issues when required.

Qualifications:
Required:

BS in Mechanical Engineering or related technical degree Minimum 1 year experience in construction industry or related sales experience Strong technical aptitude and understanding of HVAC systems including pumps, air handlers, VRV, chillers, boilers, heat pumps, and fans. Proactive communication skills, well organized

Preferred:

2-5 years' experience in HVAC/Construction industry or comparable sales role
