Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Staff Full Stack Engineer to join a critical project with one of the largest consulting and advisory firms in the world. This individual will provide technical leadership for critical components of a State of California behavioral health transformation platform serving a large user population. The role combines hands-on software development, architectural ownership, technical mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver scalable and reliable healthcare technology. The ideal candidate will balance long-term engineering excellence with pragmatic execution while remaining deeply involved in production code and delivery. Own the architecture, technical quality, and delivery outcomes for an assigned product area. Lead the design of distributed services, APIs, and integrations across the broader platform ecosystem. Spend 40%+ of the role writing production code for complex features and critical system components. Make technical decisions related to implementation approaches, technology selection, system design, performance, and scalability. Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues spanning multiple services and system boundaries. Establish engineering standards for code quality, testing, monitoring, observability, security, and operational readiness. Mentor mid-level and senior engineers through code reviews, pairing sessions, architecture discussions, and technical knowledge sharing. Partner with product managers, designers, stakeholders, and other engineering teams to translate business goals into scalable technical solutions. Lead initiatives that improve platform reliability, developer experience, delivery velocity, and engineering best practices. Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Skills and Requirements 8+ years of software engineering experience building distributed systems and high-scale applications. 3+ years of technical leadership experience driving architecture decisions and mentoring engineering teams. 5+ years of hands-on development experience with at least two of the following: C#, Java, Python, Go, TypeScript, or JavaScript. 5+ years of experience designing and building microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven architectures. 3+ years of cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including Kubernetes and Docker. 3+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, observability tools, and SQL or NoSQL databases. Experience working in healthcare, government, or other highly regulated environments. Experience with Terraform, Helm, Kafka, Kinesis, Elasticsearch, Datadog, Prometheus, or CloudWatch. Experience implementing OAuth/OIDC, zero-trust security principles, service mesh architectures, or GitOps practices.
