Job Description

Valex is looking for a Sales Applications Engineer (I or II) to join its team in Ventura, CA. This role will service as a bridge for our customers between sales and engineering. Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Assist in cost preparation to submit to sales in response to customers' requests for quotation,
  • Support operations and quality departments as required, and work with the engineering team to support production goals,
  • Assist operators and shop personnel on manufacturing processes as needed,
  • Coordinate information and generate a response to salespersons' requests for review of customer's specifications,
  • Assist internal (sales team and distributors) and external customers (end users), in proper determination of applicable Valex products,
  • Produce conceptual sketches and CAD prints/models as needed for internal, supplier, distributor, or customer needs,
  • Provide engineering technical assistance to implement and qualify production equipment and methods,
  • Develop and/or maintain efficient methods and tools for the quotation of new products and contract fabrication requests,
  • Review customer specifications throughout process to ensure Valex has the capability to produce requested product and comply with specifications,
  • Conduct meetings between departments, customers, and distributors as required to progress project progress,
  • Manage integrated product and contract manufacturing projects from inception to completion,
  • Represent the Company at customer sites, trade shows, conventions, conferences, etc. as required,
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to plan and execute strategies for integrated product projects,
  • Develop training materials and train Valex employees and distributors on Valex product lines and contract manufacturing capabilities,
  • Provide sales team with technical presentations,
  • Be the interface between Valex and end customer for purposes of new product development and introduction,
  • Other engineering projects as assigned.
The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in an applicable engineering field, 2+ years of applicable experience based on the qualifications above, familiarity with Solidworks and/or AutoCAD, MS Office/Windows, ability to interpret complex mechanical drawings and specifications, have good written and verbal communication skills in English, have excellent interpersonal skills (be a people-person), have a valid driver's license, U.S. Passport (or be willing to get one), and be willing to travel up to 35% of the time. This is a full-time, regular, exempt position with a pay range of $75k/yr to $90K/yr DOE.
