Job Description
We are looking for a technically sharp Applications Engineer to join our Sales & Marketing team. In this role, you'll be the go-to expert for selecting, quoting, and troubleshooting IFS pump and control products for domestic and international sales channels. You'll work closely with distributors, end users, and internal teams to expand IFS's market share across key industries worldwide. Responsibilities Engage directly with distributors and end users to identify pump selection criteria and application requirements. Match customer needs to the right IFS products — pumps, controls, replacement parts, and accessories. Prepare accurate product quotations from published price lists and product data sheets. Identify and understand competitor products and their IFS equivalents to support the sales team. Work with the Controls group to develop engineered control panel requirements based on application logic. Refer end users to the IFS distributor network across four key markets: Industrial, Wastewater, Mining, and Dewatering. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree, preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. 3+ years of experience in a sales engineering or applications engineering role. Technical Skills Ability to read pump performance graphs; knowledge of pump construction and materials a plus. Ability to read engineering drawings and electrical schematics; control panel logic familiarity a plus. Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel; CAD/SolidWorks experience a plus. Experience with an ERP system; Microsoft Dynamics/Business Central a plus. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. Skills & Traits Excellent verbal and written communication skills — both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong customer service orientation and business acumen. Fast learner who builds on knowledge and takes initiative. Strong attention to detail and a collaborative team mindset. Willingness to travel occasionally to support outside sales and training efforts.
