Headquartered in McLean, Virginia, Altamira supports the defense, intelligence, and homeland security sectors by delivering innovative solutions to complex national security and intelligence challenges. Our interns benefit from a supportive small business culture while contributing directly to real-world customer requirements. Altamira is seeking creative, motivated, and goal-oriented summer interns to work alongside experienced Software Development teams supporting mission-focused efforts in software engineering, data processing, and intelligence-related technologies.
Responsibilities may include:
Supporting software development and enhancement efforts for mission applications and simulation environments Assisting with code refactoring, debugging, testing, and software architecture improvements Supporting AI/ML-related software development, including detection, classification, and data analysis functions Contributing to modeling, training, and performance evaluation activities Collaborating with technical teams to improve application performance and maintainability Learning and applying new technologies in support of customer requirements
Desired Qualifications:
Working toward a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field Familiarity with one or more of the following: C++ / Qt JavaScript / TypeScript Python Java
HTML / CSS
PostgreSQL / Post
GIS / SQL
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with team members Ability to quickly learn new technologies and apply them to assigned work Must be a U.S. Citizen Altamira is an Equal Opportunity employer.
