Lead Antibody Engineer

Lead Antibody Engineer

  • Rockville, MDOur client in the biotechnology industry is looking to expand their Antibody Engineering team in Rockville, MD and is in search of a Lead Antibody Engineer who specializes in guided phage display and the development of antibody discovery technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the advancement of innovative phage display techniques — including guided selection methods, structure-informed panning, and epitope-focused approaches — to enhance platform capabilities beyond traditional execution methods.
  • Utilize deep mutational scanning and NGS-based repertoire analysis to gain mechanistic insights, inform library designs, and create predictive models of antibody fitness landscapes.
  • Pioneer new phage display selection strategies for complex targets like membrane proteins and conformational epitopes.
  • Contribute to intellectual property and drive industry advancements through inventorship and impactful publications.
  • Collaborate with structural biologists to utilize cryo-EM, crystallography, and molecular dynamics data for informed engineering decisions.
  • Incorporate AI/ML and computational tools into phage display workflows, utilizing generative protein design, protein language models, and in silico affinity predictions to expedite lead discovery and optimization.
Qualifications:
  • PhD in Molecular Biology or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in advanced phage display techniques with a focus on method and technology development.
  • Strong track record of high-impact publications is desirable.
  • Passion for bridging experimental and computational antibody engineering realms.
