Job Description

Job Title Software Test Engineer - OTA & Embedded Systems Overview / Summary We are seeking a Software Test Engineer to support testing and validation activities for vehicle software update systems and infotainment platforms. The role focuses on end-to-end testing of Over-The-Air (OTA) software updates, HMI systems, mobile applications, and manufacturing update processes. The ideal candidate will work closely with development and engineering teams to ensure software quality, reliability, and seamless user experience. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute functional test scenarios and test cases within Agile sprint cycles. Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements and ensure test coverage. Prepare, configure, and maintain test benches, vehicles, tools, and software environments. Execute manual and automated testing for OTA software updates and infotainment systems. Validate software download, installation, activation, and configuration processes. Log, track, and debug software defects using defect tracking tools such as JIRA. Perform root-cause analysis for software failures and testing issues. Support integration testing across OTA update systems, telematics units, HMI systems, and backend services. Contribute to test automation development and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain laboratory hardware nodes and test environments for ongoing validation activities. Participate in sprint planning and provide effort estimates for testing activities. Create and maintain test plans, test reports, technical documentation, and validation summaries. Support usability testing and validation of infotainment and HMI features. Provide detailed feedback and bug reports to improve software quality and testing workflows. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical field. 1-5 years of experience in software testing within embedded systems, automotive, or similar software environments. Experience developing and executing functional test scenarios and test cases. Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies. Experience with software testing methodologies including: Acceptance Testing Integration Testing Regression Testing Unit Testing User Acceptance Testing Usability Testing Experience with test automation and automated scripting. Hands-on experience with defect tracking systems such as JIRA and test management tools. Experience performing root-cause analysis and debugging software failures. Familiarity with object-oriented programming and automation development. Preferred Qualifications Experience using Python for test automation, infrastructure automation, or CI/CD integration. Experience with API testing tools such as Postman. Technical documentation and technical writing experience. Experience reviewing code, pull requests, or peer code assessments.
