JOB DESCRIPTION
Welding Applications Engineer focus on Front-End Developer with 4-5 years of experience building and supporting scalable, responsive web applications. Strong in modern front-end technologies, API integration, troubleshooting, and production support. Dynamic and innovative problem-solver with strong adaptability to evolving technologies and changing business needs.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with customers and WTC's engineering team to research, design, test, and document new products. Support customers' welding application needs by reviewing welding specifications, designing RSW (resistance spot welding) schedules, performing RSW tests, and providing field application support. Setup of WTC weld control, monitoring, and network products at customer facilities. Technical support of fellow WTC teams (i.e., Sales/Marketing Group and Technical Service Team) to answer customer questions, analyze customer data, and manage projects. Maintain technical relationships with key customers and partners. Represent WTC in technical meetings and conferences, such as the American Welding Society Sheet Metal Welding Conference. Assist in validation of software, as assigned. Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally. Develop POCs and customer-facing front-end applications based on business and end-user requirements. Build responsive, user-friendly UI components and integrate them with RESTful APls. Consume existing RESTful APls to retrieve, display, process, and manage application data. Quickly understand existing WTC APls, application workflows, and technical documentation. Develop Proofs of Concept (POCs) based on customer requirements and business use cases. Demonstrate POCs, application features, and technical solutions directly to customers and end clients. Translate customer documented approved requirements into functional front-end solutions using JavaScript and Tailwind CSS. Use Python where appropriate for scripting, data processing, automation, API interaction, or supporting POC development. Collaborate effectively with backend, DevOps, product, validation, and customer-facing teams to ensureQualifications:
Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills to interact effectively with all levels of management, customers, suppliers, and WTC team members. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with robot control and PLC programming is preferred. Experience with networking technology, setup, and troubleshooting is preferred. Practical knowledge of data management and analysis is preferred. Own assigned work from requirements through production and support. Explain progress, blockers, risks, and technical decisions clearly. Consider usability and business/customer impact when implementing features. Open to learn new processes, frameworks, development practices, and architecture as needed Respond to constructively changing requirements, priorities, and technologies. Estimate work realistically and manage multiple priorities. Proactively communicate delays and blockers early rather than waiting until deadlines. Open to validate functionality, edge cases, security, performance, and user experience. Accept tech and code-review feedback professionally and open to providing useful feedback to others.
