Job Description

Senior Applications Engineer Novi, MI Senior Application Engineer Responsibilities The Global Application Engineering team serves as a primary interface between company offices worldwide and product development teams, providing second-level product support and general technical expertise. Maintain expert technical knowledge of ATI products
Maintain a working knowledge of related industry standards and specifications
Provide high quality, timely and thorough support to ATI offices and customers
Investigate and document customer-reported bugs and feature requests
Document and maintain customer contact information and interactions in a database
Develop, review and maintain documentation such as application notes
Maintain knowledge/understanding of related third-party tools
Maintain knowledge/understanding of competitive products
Help guide product development teams in implementation of products and features
Participate in testing and validation of ATI products prior to market release
Develop product demonstrations and application examples for pre-sales activities
Represent the company at industry tradeshows/conferences
Travel to customer locations in Southeast Michigan
Occasional domestic or international travel (as needed) to visit customer locations
Understand customer needs and translate them into solutions that provide added value to ATI products Qualifications. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills: Essential Skills/Experience Previous experience with ECU calibration tools
Strong knowledge of electronic control system development processes, as well as software/hardware architectures
Working knowledge of vehicle instrumentation
Experience with software scripting or programming
Strong troubleshooting skills Desired Skills/Experience Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years' experience in the field or in a related area
Strong knowledge of automotive communication and diagnostics protocols
Highly motivated by the challenges of working with different applications and implementing new technology
Experience with MATLAB & Simulink and related products by MathWorks® Bonus Skills/ Experience Previous experience with ATI products Essential Non-Technical Skills Positive proactive attitude and solid work ethic
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent listening skills
Ability to remain poised, patient and calm in stressful situations
Highly sensitive to and aware of sales issues and opportunities
Experience with Microsoft Office applications
Willingness to follow processes and procedures
Strong organizational skills
Detail oriented
Ability to work independently
