Controls Engineer -
Automation & Material Handling Location:

On-site / project-based travel About the Opportunity We are partnering with an established automation and systems integration company that designs and delivers custom automation solutions for manufacturing, distribution, and warehouse environments. This is an opportunity for a Controls Engineer to take ownership of projects from controls design and programming through commissioning and customer-site implementation. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys solving problems independently, working hands-on with automation, and having a voice in how projects are executed. What You'll Do Design, develop, program, and troubleshoot industrial control systems Develop and modify PLC programs using Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Studio 5000 Work with HMIs, I/O, motion control, communications, and related automation technologies Support commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and system integration at customer sites Develop controls solutions for systems including conveyors, ASRS, sortation, robotics, and automated equipment Troubleshoot electrical and controls issues and develop effective solutions Collaborate with engineers, technicians, customers, and project teams Take ownership of projects and work with limited day-to-day supervision Identify opportunities to improve existing processes, programming methods, and system performance Travel to customer sites as needed, averaging approximately 30% What We're Looking For Approximately 3-5 years of Controls Engineering experience Strong Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLC programming experience Hands-on experience with Studio 5000 Strong understanding of industrial controls fundamentals Ability to independently troubleshoot problems and develop solutions Experience taking ownership of controls projects from design through commissioning Strong communication and collaboration skills Adaptable mindset and willingness to learn new technologies Ability to work effectively in a smaller, collaborative engineering environment Preferred Experience Material handling automation Conveyor systems ASRS Motion control Robotics Automated cells Tooling Systems integration Allen Bradley/Rockwell PLC Studio 5000/ControlLogix Siemens PLC/TIA Portal Why Consider This Opportunity?
