Configuration Engineer Huntersville, NC Pay:
$55.00 - $62.00 per hour 26-09805 Job summary The Configuration Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise in SAP ABAP and EDI development, supporting system design, testing, implementation, and ongoing support. This role requires hands-on experience working on SAP projects in a business environment and involves collaboration with business and IT teams to support strategic objectives. Responsibilities Analyze, develop, and modify
SAP ABAP
programs including enhancements, conversions, User Exits, ALV reports, LSMW, RFCs, ALE/EDI, IDOCs, BAPIs, and BADIs. Develop and modify SAP Script and Smart Forms. Debug system issues and provide resolutions. Understand EDI messages (850, 855, 846, 856, 810) and collaborate with outsourced middleware teams to map SAP IDoc structures. Communicate with vendors and trading partners to facilitate EDI data exchanges. Troubleshoot and resolve EDI errors and requests related to data and mapping enhancements. Support inbound and outbound IDOC programs, use monitoring tools, and correct errors. Respond to SAP and EDI tickets in coordination with the SAP Lead. Provide guidance and build strong partnerships with business and IT teams. Functional experience in the order-to-cash module. Qualifications 3-5 years of practical, hands-on experience as an
SAP ABAP
developer in SAP ECC 6.0 or higher. Strong knowledge of
SAP ABAP
development technologies and core modules SD and MM. Experience onboarding EDI customers by mapping EDI messages to
SAP IDOC
structures. In-depth knowledge of interfacing EDI transactions with SAP. Good understanding of SAP sales order to cash process. Proven experience with at least one full cycle implementation of SAP ECC. Experience writing SQL queries is a plus but not mandatory. Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills. 4-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
