Avionics Software Engineer

Avionics Software Engineer Job Description The Avionics Software Engineer will support software development programs which include real-time human-in-the-loop simulation. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in an embedded software environment, with a focus on safety-critical aerospace projects. The Software Engineer will develop software for flight simulators using C++ and Matlab, and support networking, Ethernet packet generation, and parsing. Responsibilities Develop software for flight simulators using C++ and Matlab. Support real-time human-in-the-loop simulation. Work on safety-critical aerospace projects. Support networking, Ethernet packet generation, and parsing. Essential Skills 6+ years of software development experience in aerospace or a related field. Proficiency in embedded software development. Experience with safety-critical embedded system hardware and software. Proficiency in C++ and Simulink for developing S-functions. Knowledge of IP networking, network packet generation, and parsing. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Experience working with Interface Control Documents. Familiarity with XidML standard and INEA formatted data. Experience with flight simulators. Ability to create detailed written documentation. Experience with Atlassian software project management suite, including JIRA, Bitbucket (Git), Confluence, and Crucible. Work Environment The role involves working with the avionics flight team to develop flight simulators for commercial space flights. The environment is dynamic and offers the opportunity to directly impact the commercialization of space flight. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Tustin, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $90.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
