Hybrid We're looking for an exceptional AI enabled software engineer, someone who understands rock-solid code and elevates the entire team's maturity. You'll build and maintain critical services using Python, React, Angular, API best practices and Google Cloud Platform. At the same time, you'll act as a coach and change agent, guiding teams toward AI enabled world-class delivery processes and continuously raising both the floor and the ceiling of our engineering organization. Drive the usage of AI into every aspect of software to transform how we work Architect, develop and maintain solutions in Python Build and enhance front-end features using React and Angular Design and document robust AI solutions for the enterprise Deploy and operate applications on Google Cloud Platform (GKE, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, etc.) Champion and implement CI/CD pipelines automation, test automation, and trunk-based development Identify process gaps and lead initiatives to improve software delivery lifecycle (SDLC) maturity and make it easier to go from idea to deployed code Coach engineers on best practices: AI coding agents, TDD, observability, fault-tolerance Facilitate change management: introduce new practices and ensure smooth adoption Influence cross-functional stakeholders—Business, Product, Ops—to align on delivery goals Mentor teams: help them grow technical skills, soft skills, and take ownership of their work Understand how to effectively use engineering metrics; continuously refine key performance indicators Technical Requirements Strong Python expertise and love of AI coding agents, AI agent development kits and other LLM optimization Hands-on experience with React and Angular frameworks Deep understanding of RESTful and gRPC API design and versioning Proven track record deploying and operating solutions on Google Cloud Platform Expertise in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/GKE) Solid grasp of CI/CD tools and pipelines (Tekton, Github Actions, GitLab CI, Spinnaker, etc.) Proficient in trunk-based development, feature toggles, and blue/green or canary releases Familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform) Strong testing mindset: unit, integration, end-to-end, performance and automation Knowledge of monitoring/observability tools (Dynatrace, Grafana) Leadership & Soft Skills Influencer without direct authority: build consensus and drive change Excellent communicator: translate complex concepts to diverse audiences Skilled coach and mentor: diagnose skill gaps and tailor development plans Change-management acumen: navigate resistance, celebrate wins, sustain momentum Continuous improvement mindset: always on the lookout for process, tooling or cultural enhancements Empathy and emotional intelligence: foster psychological safety and high-trust teams Strategic thinker: balance short-term delivery needs with long-term architectural health Qualifications 10+ years of professional software engineering experience 3+ years in a hands-on technical leadership or coaching role Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience) Demonstrated success in accelerating team maturity and improving delivery metrics GenAI and LLM integration experience Nice-to-Haves Experience in Google Cloud Platform Experience with event-driven architectures and streaming platforms (Kafka, Pub/Sub) Familiarity with security best practices (OAuth2, JWT, OWASP Top 10) Open source contributions or active participation in tech communities Measures of Success DORA metrics Trending quality indicators of code base Team engagement/morale and learning time allocated Value realization of features Feature branch lifespans Observability coverage You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
