The role focuses on applying Simulink and MATLAB model-based workflows, supporting ECU calibration tools, integrating automotive hardware and software, and delivering scripts and automation to accelerate vehicle test and validation activities. The ideal candidate will work closely with customers and cross-functional teams to deploy solutions, troubleshoot issues on-vehicle and in-lab, and ensure successful delivery of software/hardware integration and calibration projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, configure, and validate Simulink and MATLAB models for vehicle control, test automation, and signal processing workflows.
Support ECU calibration activities using industry tools (e.g., CANape, INCA, or equivalent), including signal mapping, parameter tuning, and calibration data management.
Design, install, and operate vehicle instrumentation and datalogging systems for on-road and laboratory testing.
Integrate and validate automotive hardware and software components, including ECUs, sensors, actuators, and real-time targets.
Write and maintain scripts and small programs (MATLAB scripts, Python, and/or C/C++) to automate data processing, test sequences, and deployment workflows.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues during vehicle testing and lab sessions, working with firmware/software teams to isolate root causes.
Provide technical support, training, and demonstrations for customers and internal stakeholders; produce clear documentation and handover materials.
Collaborate with product, R D, and systems engineering teams to define requirements, contribute to roadmap items, and ensure solutions meet automotive functional and safety expectations.
Manage project tasks, timelines, and deliverables for calibration and integration activities; support test planning and result analysis.
QualificationsBachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related field.5+ years of hands-on experience in automotive application engineering, ECU calibration, or vehicle systems integration.
Strong proficiency with Simulink and MATLAB for model-based development and test automation.
Practical experience with ECU calibration tools such as CANape, INCA, or comparable systems.
Experience with vehicle instrumentation, data acquisition, and on-vehicle testing methodologies.
Solid understanding of automotive hardware and software integration, communication protocols (CAN/CAN-FD, LIN, Ethernet), and real-time targets (dSPACE, NI or similar).Proficient scripting/programming skills (MATLAB scripting, Python, and familiarity with C/C++ is a plus).Experience analyzing logged vehicle data and using diagnostic tools to support fault isolation and calibration validation.
Excellent communication skills, customer-facing experience, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel to customer sites and test facilities as required; valid drivers license preferred.
