Position Introduction/Key Duties Cimarron is seeking a Senior Flight Software Engineer to support our partnership with a commercial aerospace company at their rocket production facility in Briggs, TX. The Flight Software group is responsible for the design and implementation of high-reliability application-level software for Firefly Launch Vehicles and spacecraft. As an Aerospace Software Engineer, you will work in a small collaborative group through all stages of the launch vehicle and spacecraft design. As a key member of our team, you will help develop, test, and integrate the flight software for Firefly Launch Vehicles. You will work in a group of flight software engineers through all stages of the flight software development processes and collaborate with other engineering teams. Through this partnership, Cimarron supplies skilled technical talent in support of our customer's advanced launch and space systems. This customer designs and builds small- to medium-lift launch vehicles, lunar landers, and orbital vehicles for government and commercial missions from low Earth orbit to the Moon and beyond. Together, our teams leverage advanced carbon composite structures, patented propulsion technologies, and common components across platforms to move fast, improve reliability, and deliver payloads at a lower cost.Key Duties:
Provide technical leadership on the Flight Software Team to develop, design, test, and integrate flight software. Design, implementation, and maintenance of high reliability C++ software. Perform work on time, meeting all functional and performance requirements. Work closely with the other engineering groups for the success of Firefly programs. Adhere to the Aerospace Software Engineering Group's processes, procedures, and best practices. Support various vehicle testing and operation events, including launch. Design, implementation and maintenance of internal software tools using Python. Travel NoneRequired/Desired Skills, Experience, and Education Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible for consideration at this time. Excellent understanding of Object-Oriented Design and the C++ programming language 7 or more years experience in a software engineering position, or similar. Familiarity with real-time operating systems, software, and the Linux operating system. Ability to work closely with other teammates and in a fast-paced environment to meet strict deadlines. Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences, Software Engineering, or a related field.Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
Master's Degree in Computer Sciences, Software Engineering, or a related field. Understanding of data path pipelines, state machines, and arithmetic operation. 7 or more years experience in an aerospace software engineering or related position. Experience deploying and using CI/CD pipelines for C++ software. Ability to understand and disposition C++ static analysis results.Business Profile:
