Position Summary:
The Asphalt Pavement EXchange (APEX) is a knowledge sharing organization focusing on Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and asphalt industry personnel to improve both personal aptitude and the quality of asphalt pavements. The APEX Multimedia Content Developer creates professional illustrations and graphics to meet timely and high-impact goals. The ideal candidate will collaborate with engineers, subject matter experts, other APEX staff, and academia to evaluate, condense, and elevate raw content into engaging, effective educational materials including web-based, print, presentations, videos, and other media.
Essential Functions:
Educational Product Development:
Take complex concepts, ideas, or sketches and turn them into practical learning products such as presentations, videos, infographics, posters, quick references, etc. to be utilized independently or as a component of a Learning Management System (LMS).
Graphics/Visual Content Production:
Working under Subject Matter Experts, produce high-quality graphics/visual products, including templates for a variety of products (infographics, multi-page documents, social media graphics, posters, presentation graphics, video graphics).
Video and Audio Editing:
Edit a monthly 3 camera podcast with separate audio track. Develop "Shorts" for YouTube Channel and social media.
Adult Learning and Engineering Support:
Working with our staff and external industry working groups, providing ideas to transform complex engineering concepts into easy-to-understand products such as PowerPoint presentations, briefs, posters, videos, etc.
Team Player:
Perform additional duties as needed to advance organizational goals.
Key Competencies:
Ability to analyze rough sketches, concepts, or specifications to create technical graphics, visuals, or animations to support educational programs. Strong attention to detail to ensure graphics and visuals are technically accurate according to specifications. Production mindset. Ability to work with a large backlog and timely development of educational products that meet program objectives. Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite and other design software. Experience leveraging AI to assist in the development of products. Experience developing educational content for Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Illustration, Graphic Design, or Communication preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years' experience in developing educational graphic/visual content. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to anticipate, handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work quickly. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (emphasis on Illustrator, InDesign, Premier Pro, and Photoshop), and other related programs. HTML coding is a plus. Video content development/editing in Premiere Pro.
Licenses:
Current and valid driver's license. Work on-site at our Buda office from 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday - Friday.

From $65,000.00 per year
