Richfield, WI, onsite Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Systems Engineer II to design, develop, and optimize firmware and embedded software for real-time, safety- and performance-critical products. You will work across the product lifecycle from requirements and architecture through implementation, verification, and field support. The ideal candidate is proficient in C++ and embedded development, familiar with RTOS-based designs, and able to use Python for tooling, test automation, and scripting. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and test embedded firmware for server-based products

Troubleshoot firmware and hardware issues using standard lab tools

Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and QA teams on new product development

Develop and support drivers, communication interfaces, and embedded system features

Assist with hardware bring-up, testing, and validation

Create and execute test plans to ensure product performance and reliability

Investigate and resolve bugs found during testing or in the field

Participate in code reviews and support junior engineers when needed

Contribute to project planning, design discussions, and continuous improvement efforts

Provide updates on project progress and key milestones

Maintain lab equipment and test setups as needed

Take on additional responsibilities and adapt to changing priorities when required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.

3+ years of experience in embedded, electrical, or software engineering

Strong programming experience with C/C++

Experience with embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS)

Familiarity with debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers

Experience using Git or other version control systems

Hands-on experience with circuits, hardware testing, and prototyping

Ability to develop, test, and troubleshoot embedded firmware

Experience reading electrical schematics and supporting hardware integration

Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Strong communication and organizational skills
