Software Development Manager

Robert Half is seeking an experienced, hands-on Software Development Manager to lead a team of 4-8 developers. This team is responsible for delivering enhancements and maintaining a complex enterprise order management platform. The team operates in a self-organized, agile environment focused on delivering high-quality features and driving customer satisfaction.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead modernization initiatives, transitioning legacy systems to modern architectures and programming languagesPromote and implement modern engineering practices, including API-driven design, event-based integrations, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps methodologiesSupport and reinforce Agile (Scrum) development practicesProvide coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance to developers and team membersPartner with product stakeholders to prioritize work, manage the product backlog, and ensure alignment with business objectivesCommunicate progress and updates to stakeholders throughout the development lifecycleCoordinate efforts across multiple teams and cross-functional partnersIdentify and drive process improvements to increase efficiency and delivery qualitySupport career development and growth of direct reportsEnsure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals
