Python Software Developer - Imaging & Automation (Greenhouse Operations)
Job Description
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (ABET-accredited preferred)Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong Python development skills, particularly for image processing and analysis
- Experience with computer vision and machine learning frameworks (e.g., OpenCV, YOLO, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Experience with Docker or other containerization technologies
- Frontend development experience using modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue, React)
- Linux environment experience
- Experience interfacing with I/O devices for automation or machine control
- Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelinesPreferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a prototyping or R D environment
- Exposure to industrial automation systems or equipment
- Hands-on experience with deep learning/CNN-based image models
- Networking and firewall configuration experienceKey Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy image analysis solutions to support greenhouse production workflows
- Apply classical computer vision and deep learning techniques to extract meaningful data from images
- Integrate imaging systems with automation and control systems (e.g., sensors, actuators, machine interfaces)
- Design and maintain pipelines to transmit image data and derived insights across enterprise networks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including automation, infrastructure, and operations
