Job Description

About the role We're a group of established California businesses (construction, business consulting, and a fast-growing AI services arm) that builds and runs its own AI products: CRM platforms with built-in AI outreach, voice agents that answer and place real phone calls, mobile apps for field teams, and automations that tie together email, messaging, calendars, and client systems. Everything is live, in use, and expanding. We're hiring someone to own the technical side of that day to day. You'll work directly with the owner, keep the existing systems healthy, build new ones from scratch, and be the person clients talk to when they need help or want something added. This is a hands-on builder role. We ship with AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and the like) every single day, so you need to be fluent in building real, production software that way, not just experimenting with it. What you'll do Maintain and improve a portfolio of live AI products and automations: monitor, fix, update, and keep integrations running as APIs and models change Take new ideas from a conversation to a working product: scope it, build it, deploy it, document it Build and tune AI agents: prompts, tool use, knowledge bases, voice agents, and the workflows around them Handle client requests: take the call, understand what they need, then fix it or build the feature Stay current on new models, tools, and platforms, test what matters, and bring recommendations on what we should adopt Keep things organized: clear docs, clean repos, credentials handled properly, nothing living only in one person's head What we're looking for Real, shipped projects you can show that were built with AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar) working directly in the codebase, not a no-code builder. Formal CS background not required; results are Hands-on with LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI) and building agents: prompt design, tool/function calling, MCP servers, RAG Backend and data: Supabase or Postgres, REST APIs, webhooks, edge/serverless functions Front end: React or Next.js (or similar); Flutter for mobile is a plus Deployment and version control: Git/GitHub, Vercel, basic cloud hosting Automation platforms (n8n, Make) and Python or TypeScript scripting for glue work Strong communicator who can explain technical decisions to non-technical business owners and stay calm on a support call Self-directed. You take ownership, work through ambiguity, and ask good questions early Nice to have
Voice AI:
ElevenLabs, Twilio, OpenAI Realtime, or similar telephony and voice stacks WhatsApp Business API, Gmail and Google Workspace APIs, calendar integrations CRM or outreach platform experience (building or heavily customizing) Background in or around construction, home services, or field operations Why this role You'd be joining something that's already working and growing fast, with new AI services rolling out and real clients waiting for them. Small team, direct line to the decision maker, no layers. Your work goes live in days, not quarters, and as the AI services side grows, there's a clear path to lead it. To apply Send your resume plus links or a short description of two or three things you've built with AI tools. That matters more to us than the resume.
Pay:
$22.00 - $30.47 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 45.0 per week Application Question(s): Have you shipped a real, working software project built with AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar) working directly in the codebase, not a no-code builder? Describe one that is in real use today: what it does, the stack, the hardest part, and a link if you can. Have you built and deployed an AI agent or automation that calls an LLM API (Anthropic, OpenAI, etc.) and is used by a real business today? Briefly, what does it do and who uses it? Which of these have you used in a real project, not a tutorial?
List all that apply:
