Job Description

Field Validation Engineer Field Validation Engineer (Python) for a Global Consumer Device Company in
Cupertino, CA Summary:
In this Field Validation Engineer role, you'll join the 911 field test team and validate cellular emergency call performance on consumer devices. You'll run tests in the field and then post-process and analyze the data in the lab. You'll be provided a driver and a vehicle for field testing. The ideal candidate has hands-on cellular field testing experience, is comfortable in a field environment, and can use Python to parse and report on test data.
Responsibilities:
  • Execute cellular field tests about 3 days a week and lab analysis about 2 days a week
  • Run both manual and automated tests (roughly 40% manual, 60% automation)
  • Post-process field data, perform first-level analysis, and generate reports
  • Run and modify existing Python test scripts as needed
  • Parse log files and generate reports (including HTML) from field data points
  • Document and communicate test results to the team
Requirements:
  • Hands-on cellular field testing experience (5G/4G/LTE)
  • Intermediate Python scripting (pandas, CSV handling, log parsing, report generation)
  • Experience with test execution, post-processing, and first-level analysis
  • Comfortable working in the field and in the lab
  • Strong problem solving skills and able to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • BS/MS in EE, CE, CS, or equivalent experience
Desired Skillsets:
  • 911 or emergency call testing experience
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or GPS testing experience
  • VoLTE / VoWi-Fi call flow and log analysis experience

Travel:
Rare non-local US travel based on business need (about once every 6 months)
Pay Rate Range:
