Job Description

TITLE Test Specialist
DESCRIPTION
Conduct comprehensive verification and validation testing of the latest UMCS (Unmanned Mission Control System) software loads supporting the MQ-25 Stingray program. Execute structured test procedures on Ground Control Stations (GCS) within a lab environment to ensure functionality, stability, and performance compliance. Develop, review, and update detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on system requirements and software change documentation. Perform regression testing on new software builds to identify unintended impacts to existing capabilities. Document test results, discrepancies, and anomalies with clarity and traceability to requirements. Troubleshoot software and system integration issues in coordination with software developers, systems engineers, and cybersecurity personnel. Support software load verification prior to operational use, ensuring configuration control and baseline integrity. Operate within a classified laboratory environment at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, maintaining strict adherence to security protocols and handling procedures. Participate in technical reviews, readiness reviews, and configuration control boards as required. Prepare for and actively participate in Joint System Verification Testing (JSVT), including pre-test coordination, lab configuration validation, execution support, real-time anomaly documentation, and post-test data analysis to ensure software readiness and requirement verification. Conduct integration and functional testing using the Mission System Trainer (MST) Prototype in conjunction with the Multidomain Control Station (MDCX) to validate mission workflows, operator interfaces, and system interoperability within a representative operational environment. Ensure compliance with DoD testing standards, program documentation requirements, and quality assurance processes. Maintain familiarity with ground control station hardware interfaces, network configurations, and system architecture. Support continuous improvement of test methodologies, automation opportunities, and lab processes.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field is desired, with experience in software test and evaluation, systems integration, or verification and validation activities. Demonstrated experience developing and executing software test plans, test procedures, and documenting discrepancies in a structured test environment. Working knowledge of software development lifecycles (Agile, DevSecOps, or traditional waterfall) and configuration management practices. Experience operating in a lab or integration environment involving networked systems, hardware/software interfaces, or mission systems (DoD or other complex systems preferred). Active Secret clearance (or higher) with the ability to work in a classified environment at Naval Air Station Patuxent River.

70K-100K and will commensurate with experience
