About the job As a member of the Midtier team, you will work alongside Software Developers to test new releases, hotfixes, and security updates. You will identify process areas that need improvement and implement automation jobs where possible to enable us to work faster and more efficiently. As a Software Developer Engineer in Test, you may: Test a wide range of SAS9 midtier products and environment configurations Communicate efficiently and effectively in a technical environment Identify processes that would benefit from automation and engage in implementing those improvements Create detailed test plans and related Jira work tickets Provide precisely documented tests, which is key to increasing the quality of the software Manage your time and projects. For example, you need to recognize when progress is no longer being achieved, when important issues aren't getting the attention they need, when timelines will not be met, and be able to effectively communicate these statuses back to your team. Triage and diagnose customer issues Required qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field 0-2 years of relevant work experience Practical experience with Windows and / or Unix Operating systems. Other operating systems are a plus Practical experience with the Java programming language or a scripting language (Python, Groovy, shell) Familiarity with Jenkins, Software track tools like Jira, source code management and code review tools like Git, Gerrit or GitHub Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication in a technical environment that includes Technical Support, Developers, and Testers that are located across the globe An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications You're curious, passionate, authentic and accountable.
