Test Administrator / Exam Proctor - Part-Time Independent Contractor TaylorMade Careers is seeking a dependable, professional, experienced Test Administrator/Exam Proctor to support our professional testing center in Round Rock, Texas. TMC provides secure testing and assessment services across technology, professional, academic, government, and credentialing programs. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced testing professional who enjoys working in a structured, professional environment and is comfortable working independently.

This is not an entry-level proctor position. Testing volume can vary from week to week, so hours are not guaranteed. Additional hours may become available during higher-volume testing periods. About the Role The Test Administrator/Exam Proctor is responsible for maintaining the security, integrity, and professionalism of the testing environment while providing a professional and respectful candidate experience. The successful candidate will be comfortable following detailed procedures, monitoring examinations, protecting confidential information, and enforcing testing policies consistently. This role requires someone who can remain calm and professional when candidates have questions, concerns, or disagreements regarding testing requirements. Key Responsibilities Administer examinations according to established testing policies, procedures, and security protocols. Verify candidate identification and complete required check-in procedures. Explain testing rules and expectations clearly before examinations begin. Monitor candidates throughout examinations and maintain a quiet, secure testing environment. Enforce applicable testing policies consistently and professionally. Respond calmly and professionally to candidate questions or concerns. Identify and report testing irregularities, suspected misconduct, technical issues, and other concerns to management. Maintain confidentiality and safeguard examination materials and candidate information. Prepare testing rooms, computers, and workstations for scheduled appointments. Complete required testing records, reports, and administrative duties accurately. Open and close the testing center according to established procedures. Perform light cleaning and sanitizing of testing areas between appointments. Communicate promptly with management regarding testing, facility, or candidate concerns. Required Qualifications Previous experience as a Test Administrator, Exam Proctor, Testing Coordinator, or in a professional testing-center environment is
REQUIRED.
Candidates should have experience with: Administering or proctoring secure examinations. Following detailed testing procedures and security protocols. Verifying candidate identification and completing secure check-in procedures. Monitoring candidates and maintaining exam security. Handling candidate questions and concerns professionally. Documenting and reporting testing irregularities or incidents. What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Dependable and punctual. Professional and comfortable working independently. Calm and professional when handling challenging situations. Comfortable maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Able to exercise sound judgment and know when to escalate an issue. Comfortable working in a structured, rules-driven environment. Experienced with computers and able to learn new testing technology and software. Committed to maintaining exam security and confidentiality. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a high-compliance, regulated, educational, government, or credentialing environment is a plus. Experience with multiple testing programs, computer-based testing, or secure examination systems is also beneficial. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to: Remain seated or standing for extended periods while monitoring examinations. Move throughout the testing area regularly. Escort candidates to and from testing rooms. Work in an office/testing-center environment, including occasional bending, stooping, and maneuvering around equipment. Lift up to 40 pounds with reasonable accommodation. Independent Contractor Position This is a part-time independent contractor position. There are no guaranteed hours, and scheduling is based on scheduled examination volume and business needs. Candidates must be able to reliably commit to scheduled shifts and communicate promptly regarding availability or schedule changes. Testing policies and security procedures must be followed consistently. When questions or unusual situations arise, the Test Administrator is expected to follow established procedures and escalate concerns to management when appropriate.
