Enterprise Technology Solutions (ETS) provides innovative and effective information technology services that allow DGS to achieve its goals and provide value to its customers. ETS provides technology services critical to DGS operations, including systems and enterprise tools development; network connectivity; desktop support; information security and privacy; technology implementation and strategic planning; and compliance with state information technology policies. The Department of General Services (DGS) is seeking a student assistant within Enterprise Technology Solutions (ETS) in Customer Technology Services/Desktop Operations. Under the close supervision of the Information Technology Supervisor II, the student assistant will assist with various information technology (IT) related activities such as the configuration and deployment of laptop and desktop personal computers (PC's), maintaining the inventory of IT hardware, and provide support to help desk customers as needed/required. Conditions of Employment This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause. 89 per hour. Minimum Qualifications Must complete each term with minimum unit requirements for Undergraduate and Graduate student classifications. Proof will be collected at the end of each Spring and Fall term. Knowledgeable in using Microsoft Office such as Word & Excel. Proficiency in Windows administration. Previous experience in an information technology position or working knowledge of typical information technology practices. Duties and Responsibilities Imaging, configuration, and deployment of laptop and desktop. Collection of IT equipment from DGS divisions and offices. Data entry in ServiceNow IT asset management database. Intake and disposal of IT hardware. Maintaining shared IT work and storage areas for Desktop Operations team. Provide support to Help Desk customers as needed/required. Physical Requirements Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, and scanners with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to transport desktop and laptops up to 40 lbs. with use of a handcart. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office environment.
