Job Description

The Manufacturing Production Scheduler plays a critical role in ensuring manufacturing operations run efficiently and meet delivery expectations. This position is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining production schedules, optimizing resource utilization, and collaborating across departments to align production plans with material availability, capacity constraints, and customer demand.
Key Position Responsibilities Include:
Production Planning & Scheduling Create and maintain detailed production schedules based on sales orders, inventory levels, production capacity, and delivery requirements Prioritize jobs to optimize workforce, machine utilization, and throughput Monitor day-to-day progress of production activities and adjust schedules to address bottlenecks, delays, or changes in demand Communicate with sales, production, engineering, procurement and logistics to ensure schedule feasibility Participate in production planning meetings and escalate issues promptly to minimize impacts Inventory & Resource Management Track inventory levels and coordinate with purchasing to ensure necessary materials are available for production Forecast resource needs and recommend adjustments to avoid shortages or excess. Prepare and present production reports on schedule adherence, inventory usage, capacity load, and performance trends Identify opportunities to improve scheduling accuracy, reduce lead times, and support efficiency initiatives Support integration of new products, engineering changes, and process enhancements into the production plan Technical Production Planning & Systems Optimization Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies and recommending data-driven solutions Utilize and support integrated manufacturing systems, data flows, and logic-based scheduling tools to improve real-time decision-making and operational performance Partner with IT, engineering, and operations to support system enhancements, automation, and digital manufacturing initiatives Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data models to provide real-time visibility into production performance and constraints Support implementation and adoption of new planning tools, scheduling modules, or system upgrades Ensure data integrity across integrated systems to improve forecast accuracy, execution reliability, and continuous improvement outcomes You'll be successful in this role if you: Have a Bachelor's degree in or similar to degrees such as Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering Technology, Supply Chain Management, or other related technical fields and/or 5 years of related experience Familiarity and proficiency with ERP systems Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel or other data analysis tools Have strong analytical, systems-based thinking, and problem-solving skills that are highly advantageous in optimizing production systems and scheduling logic Are comfortable with technical systems integration, data flows, and logic-based scheduling that improve real-time responsiveness in manufacturing environments Aster Brands offers a package of forward-thinking employee benefits, including excellent health, dental, vision, and life insurance, 401k with employer match, profit sharing, paid time off, paid holidays, award-winning adoption and foster care reimbursement, partial paid family leave, product discounts, access to an onsite licensed professional counselor, and a team of innovative, driven and caring coworkers.
