Job Description SUMMARY The co-op student will be working on job assignments related to their information technology or engineering education. These increasingly challenging assignments will provide foremost an effective learning assignment and then a sound intellectual and/or financial return for the PCC organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The student will apply principles that he or she has learned in school to hands-on situations, such as program development for PCC use. The student will be responsible for accomplishing performance goals and will receive progressive responsibility throughout his/her co-op experience. Will identify and fix computer and network problems. Student will attend a weekly departmental meeting. Will take ownership and responsibility for identified projects. Participate on project teams for some assigned projects. Work within specifications provided to meet project goals and objectives in a timely and accurate manner. Participate with peers, project team members, and other departments on new product development, product line extensions, and product enhancements. Will have to work with network and server equipment. Student can expand responsibilities into computer programming or controls, at their interest.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of computer hardware Basic knowledge of computer networking Proficient with Microsoft Office Good writing skills and interpersonal skills Knowledge of SQL, stored procedures, VB 6.0, C#, or VB.Net is a plus US Person Status required EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Full-time student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering. Must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
Strong analytical skills; possess the ability to work through technical issues. Action Oriented Drive for Results Customer Focus
OTHER BENEFITS
Co-ops will be paid $25.00 hour /40-hours a week Monthly housing stipend of $1,000 (requirements must be met to qualify). Given top priority for future co-op rotations and full time positions.
