Epic Support Analyst - Information Technology (IT)
Job Description
The Epic Support Analyst - IT is responsible for the administration, support, optimization, integration, security and ongoing maintenance of enterprise applications utilized throughout Greene County General Hospital. This position serves as the primary technical resource for assigned applications and collaborates with operational and clinical stakeholders to ensure systems are reliable, secure, integrated and aligned with organicational goals and patient care initiatives. The Epic Support Analyst works closely with Information Technology staff, department leaders, vendors, and end users to implement software solutions, improve workflows, troubleshoot issues, support system integrations, manage upgrades, and deliver technical solutions that improve operational efficiency and patient care. Responsibilities may include support of Epic, Microsoft 365, Active Directory integrations, reporting systems, identity management, and other business-critical applications. This aligns with the IT-focused analyst ownership model currently being evaluated for Epic support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Application Administration & Support Serve as primary administrator and technical owner of assigned enterprise applications. Configure, maintain, and optimize application settings, workflows, forms, security roles, and user permissions. Troubleshoot application issues and perform root cause analysis. Manage support requests and provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support. Develop and maintain application documentation, knowledge base articles, and support procedures. Coordinate software upgrades, patches, and releases. Build and maintain Epic application configuration in accordance with organizational standards and Epic best practices. Systems Integration Support integrations between enterprise applications and third-party systems. Assist with interface management, data exchange, and interoperability initiatives. Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve integration issues. Validate functionality following upgrades or configuration changes. Support single sign-on (SSO), identity management, and authentication systems. Security & Access Management Administer role-based access controls. Provision and deprovision user accounts according to organizational policies. Participate in periodic access reviews and compliance audits. Assist with cybersecurity initiatives related to enterprise applications. Ensure applications comply with HIPAA, security standards, and organizational policies. Reporting & Data Analytics Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data extracts. Validate data accuracy and assist with troubleshooting reporting issues. Support operational, financial, clinical, and regulatory reporting requirements. Collaborate with leadership to identify reporting and analytics needs. Project & Change Management Participate in application implementations, upgrades, and optimization projects. Develop testing plans and perform application testing. Assist with project planning, scheduling, and documentation. Coordinate with vendors during implementations and system enhancements. Follow change management procedures for all production environments. End User Training & Support Provide training and guidance to end users. Create user guides, job aids, and standard operating procedures. Support go-live activities and major application deployments. Serve as a technical subject matter expert for assigned applications Quality/Compliance Identify opportunities for process improvement within supported applications. Demonstrates clear ownership of workplace and patient safety. Reports mistakes, near misses, adverse events and quality and safety concerns. Protects patient and employee confidentiality and abides by all HIPAA laws. Participates in the development and implementation of safety and quality improvement activities. Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements :
Education :
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology related field or equivalent experience.
Licensure/Certification :
N/A Experience:
Three (3) years or more supporting enterprise software applications. Experience with healthcare information systems preferred. Experience with software implementations and upgrades preferred. Experience working with vendors and support organizations preferred.
