Position Title:
Analyst I -Information Technology Job Summary:
The Analyst I - Information Technology assists in the design, development, installation, and maintenance of technology solutions supporting Carpenter Technology's corporate infrastructure. This position provides physical delivery, implementation, and support of standard hardware, software, applications, network systems, and technology services. The Analyst I assists with workstation deployments, server configurations, system upgrades, and technical support activities while working with standard software tools, technology platforms, and third-party applications. The complexity of assignments and level of supervision are commensurate with the position level and experience. This role also supports special projects and performs other duties as assigned.Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in the design, implementation, installation, and maintenance of corporate technology solutions. Provide support for hardware, software, applications, network systems, and end-user computing environments. Perform workstation setup, deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting activities. Assist with server setup, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades. Support hardware and software installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Assist in maintaining and supporting network hardware, software, cabling, and communication services. Support voice and data network services across the organization. Diagnose and resolve routine technical issues using established procedures and support methodologies. Document system configurations, support activities, and technical resolutions. Collaborate with Information Technology team members and business users to resolve issues and support operational needs. Contribute as a team member on technology improvement initiatives and departmental projects. Follow established IT procedures, standards, and best practices. Stay current on emerging technology trends and advancements. Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.Additional Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. 0 to 1 year of Information Technology experience. Knowledge of relevant infrastructure technologies, including but not limited to: Mainframe operating systems and software. Storage hardware and software. Network hardware, software, and cabling. Voice and data network services. PC hardware and operating systems. Server hardware and operating systems. Applies foundational knowledge of Information Technology principles, practices, and procedures. Supports departmental goals through effective execution of assigned responsibilities. Maintains awareness of costs and efficiency related to assigned work activities. Contributes technical support to project teams and departmental initiatives. Collaborates with others to achieve project goals within designated scope and timelines. Works under guidance with no formal project management responsibilities. Strong organizational and prioritization skills. Ability to follow direction and work effectively with close supervision. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective troubleshooting capabilities. Customer-focused approach to service and support.
