Tech Consultant - Lead Full-Stack Engineer Virginia, Arlington 09/14/2026 Contract Active
Job Summary
The Tech Consultant - Lead Full-Stack Engineer will lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing enterprise applications. The role requires strong hands-on expertise across backend and frontend technologies, microservices, REST APIs, databases, and cloud-native development, combined with technical leadership and mentoring capabilities. The engineer will collaborate with architects, Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA, and DevOps teams throughout the delivery lifecycle while establishing engineering standards, providing technical guidance, and supporting production delivery. This is a hybrid role based in Arlington, VA, New York, NY, or St. Louis, MO, with an overall experience requirement of 7-10 years. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of end-to-end full-stack applications.
- Develop scalable backend services using Java/Spring Boot or C#/.NET Core and modern frontend frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Design and develop RESTful APIs, microservices, and integrations with internal and external systems.
- Participate in solution design and architecture discussions and recommend appropriate technical approaches.
- Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
- Conduct code reviews and establish coding, development, and engineering standards.
- Mentor developers and provide technical guidance to the engineering team.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA, and DevOps teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot complex application and production issues and perform Root Cause Analysis.
- Optimize applications for performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, application deployments, and production releases.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, estimation, sprint planning, and technical delivery. Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in full-stack application development and enterprise software engineering.
- 5+ years of experience with backend technologies such as Java/Spring Boot or C#/.NET Core, microservices, and REST APIs.
- 4+ years of experience with modern frontend technologies such as React, Angular, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- 3+ years of experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, cloud platforms, and CI/CD-based application delivery.
- Strong understanding of microservices and distributed application architecture.
- Strong technical leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading and mentoring software engineering teams.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging and event-streaming technologies.
- Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with automated unit, integration, and API testing.
- Knowledge of application security and secure coding practices.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, or Grafana.
- Experience working in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, or other enterprise environments.
