Union Support Staff Opening on: Aug 26 2026 Closing at: Sep 8 2026 - 23:55 EDT 13 Salary Commensurate with Experience Information Technology Services 1149933 Working/Functional Title Telecom Engineer Position Summary Reporting to the Manager of Unified Communications Team, this position will help the team manage, maintain, and enhance the Telephone, Contact Centers, Cable Television, and Cellular on campus. This candidate would be working with others on the team to create new telecom applications for customers, maintain existing applications and maintain existing systems on the University's critical communications systems. This candidate will be working with cellular systems, phone systems, networked systems and much more to support critical services, which serve the University community. Minimum Requirements Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program; three to five years managing networking switches, Network Systems and Telecommunications Systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Desired Qualifications 1-2 years managing cellular equipment, including deploying ODAS, IDAS or IP-Based Cellular Extenders Experience with Avaya Aura Communication Systems, including Avaya System Manager, Avaya Communication Manager, Avaya Session Manager, Avaya Session Border Controllers, Avaya Application Enablement Services Experience working with Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile or their infrastructure partners to deploy equipment to enhance cellular coverage on campus networks Experience working with educational departments to design, consult and deploy telecommunications services.
