Job Purpose This position is responsible for conducting end-to-end research from understanding opportunities through optimizing a product on the market; working with the product and design teams to understand business problems and help articulate design solutions based on a deep, empathic understanding of our end users; helping evangelize research throughout the organization; mentoring junior researchers as well as helping train product managers and others in basic research techniques; working to drive data-centric culture whether it's big data, wide data, or a combination. Required Job Qualifications Bachelors Degree and 7 years experience in user experience research OR 11 years in user experience research OR Masters degree and 4 years experience in user experience research Experience developing and/or maturing a holistic research practice with digital product teams"" Ability to adapt and thrive in various situations/environments Portfolio demonstrating an ability to infer / extract underlying motivations of people rather than just reporting out quotes or observations Experience collaborating with a design team Quantitative or qualitative research (see preferred qualifications) but should be conversant with both types of research Preferred Job Qualifications Advanced degree in design, HCI, the social sciences or other job-related degree Experience in healthcare
Quantitative Focus:
Past experience providing data literacy education to a design team Expertise serving as a conduit between design and the health analytics team to craft data-driven experiences with a humane focus Experience crafting advanced models of interactivity Experience crafting a program of a/b tests and multivariate tests including evaluating future concepts through 404 testing
Qualitative Focus:
Record of creating new research methods or combine multiple methods in creative ways to uncover deeper, more realistic truths about people Experience leading discovery portion of a significant segment of customers / end users Ability to synthesize disparate literature into a robust secondary research around an opportunity space Using rich qualitative data, craft themes through a rigorous process of synthesis Ability to work within both inductive and deductive research frameworks #LI-SM1
