Overview We are seeking a hands-on Senior Software Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable test automation solutions across web applications, APIs, and cloud-native platforms. This role will focus on creating reliable automation frameworks, improving test coverage, integrating quality gates into CI/CD pipelines, and enabling faster, higher-confidence releases. The ideal candidate combines strong technical automation skills with a solid understanding of software quality engineering principles and collaborative ways of working. This is a highly technical role requiring expertise in modern UI and API automation, cloud environments, and continuous testing practices. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable UI and API automation frameworks Create automated test suites using Playwright, Python, and PyTest Develop and execute API automation tests for RESTful services Build reusable test utilities, libraries, and reporting capabilities Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools Partner closely with developers, product managers, and QE teams to define quality strategies and test coverage Perform root-cause analysis of failures and drive defect prevention Support test execution in AWS-hosted environments Validate application functionality, integrations, and end-to-end workflows Participate in requirements reviews, design discussions, and sprint activities Continuously improve automation reliability, maintainability, and execution efficiency Contribute to quality metrics, reporting, and release readiness assessments Promote quality engineering best practices across teams Required Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in software quality engineering or test automation Strong hands-on experience with Python Strong experience with Playwright for UI automation Experience using PyTest and automation framework development Strong understanding of API testing and REST services Experience with tools such as Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, or equivalent Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar automation platforms Working knowledge of AWS services and cloud-hosted applications Experience with test reporting and debugging production-quality systems Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and QE teams Preferred Qualifications Experience working in healthcare, insurance, or regulated environments Experience validating distributed systems and microservices architectures Familiarity with contract testing and service virtualization Exposure to performance or reliability testing Experience with container technologies such as Docker Familiarity with log analysis and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Datadog, Grafana, or CloudWatch Experience working with test data management and environment management Knowledge of AI-assisted testing tools and modern QE practices Education Bachelor's degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. Our people fuel our future.
