Job Description

At La Plata Electric Association , our mission is to provide our members safe, reliable electricity at the lowest reasonable cost while being environmentally responsible. We are Member Powered, Future Focused and a National Leader. It is our strategic goal to ensure our members, on average, pay less for electric service than 70% of Colorado cooperatives and that by 2030 we reduce our carbon emissions by more than 80% of our 2005 levels, surpassing the state climate goals. As an LPEA intern, you will be responsible for a variety of assigned duties and responsibilities designed to develop skills and prepare you for a career within an energy organization or your designated field of study. We are looking for a fall intern who can dedicate a minimum of 15 hours per week to projects supporting brand system implementation, brand consistency, and website page development. This position will work alongside and report to the Marketing Specialist and Creative Services & Brand Specialist. During this internship you will be responsible for (in order of priority): Taking LPEA's new visual identity and applying it consistently across templates, one-pagers and social assets creating easily accessible, pre-made pieces that can be utilized across departments. Building out an updated brand guideline document, auditing existing materials against the updated guidelines and reporting audit findings. Utilizing the brand system to build out web pages (utilizing Wordpress), including landing pages, staff bios, and updated graphics. We are looking for a highly creative individual who is: Attending a 2- or 4-year college or university studying graphic design, web design, art, marketing or related field. Knowledgeable with web design platforms (Wordpress is preferred). Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, preferably Illustrator and InDesign. Experienced in graphic design, AI tools and processes, and web design.
