This position will be responsible for taking approved website designs and wireframes and turning them into polished, responsive, fully functioning WordPress websites. The ideal candidate is highly familiar with WordPress and Elementor, has a strong eye for design and detail, and understands the fundamentals of front-end web development. This person should be comfortable working from a wireframe or completed website design and accurately translating that design into a finished website. This role requires someone who can balance design, usability, responsiveness, and technical execution while maintaining a high level of consistency across every page of a website. ResponsibilitiesWordPress Website Development Build custom WordPress websites using Elementor and Elementor Pro. Take approved wireframes, mockups, or website designs and develop them into fully functioning websites. Accurately translate layouts, typography, spacing, imagery, colors, and other design elements into WordPress. Build reusable Elementor components, templates, headers, footers, and global styles. Create responsive layouts that work properly across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. Develop websites ranging from smaller informational websites to larger service-based and e-commerce websites. Configure menus, forms, buttons, calls-to-action, galleries, sliders, and other website functionality. Work with WordPress plugins and third-party integrations when needed. Front-End Development Use basic HTML and CSS to customize Elementor websites beyond standard builder functionality. Make minor JavaScript or PHP adjustments when necessary and within the candidate's skill level. Troubleshoot styling and layout issues. Use custom CSS to improve responsiveness, spacing, animations, and other front-end functionality. Understand WordPress themes, child themes, plugins, and basic site structure. Identify when custom development is necessary instead of relying solely on plugins or page builder settings. Advanced programming experience is not required, but the candidate should be comfortable working with code and willing to continue developing their technical skills. Responsive Design & Quality Control Ensure websites accurately reflect the approved design across different screen sizes. Test websites on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. Test websites across major browsers. Review completed websites for visual inconsistencies, broken links, formatting issues, and functionality problems. Maintain proper spacing, typography, alignment, and design consistency throughout each website. Troubleshoot and resolve issues before client review and website launch. Website Performance Follow best practices for WordPress website performance. Properly optimize images and other website assets. Help maintain efficient plugin usage and avoid unnecessary website bloat. Understand the fundamentals of caching, image optimization, website hosting, and page speed. Work with the Northbound Studio team to improve Core Web Vitals and overall site performance where applicable. Website Launch & Maintenance Assist with website staging and launch processes. Perform pre-launch quality assurance. Help configure domains, SSL certificates, redirects, analytics, forms, and other launch requirements. Troubleshoot WordPress websites after launch. Perform website updates and ongoing client website maintenance when necessary. Work within existing WordPress websites to add pages, update layouts, or improve functionality. Working From Wireframes & Designs A major part of this position will be taking designs created by Northbound Studio's design team and developing them into websites. The Website Designer / Developer should be able to receive a wireframe or completed website mockup and independently determine how to recreate that design within WordPress and Elementor.
This includes understanding:
Page structure and content hierarchy Global typography and color systems Proper use of sections, containers, and reusable components Responsive behavior Desktop, tablet, and mobile layouts Image and content placement Interactive elements and animations Navigation and page relationships Calls-to-action and conversion-focused layouts Attention to detail is extremely important. The finished website should closely match the approved design rather than simply approximating the general layout. Qualifications Strong experience working with WordPress. Strong experience using Elementor and Elementor Pro. Ability to take a wireframe or website design and independently build it in WordPress. Strong understanding of responsive web design. Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS. Basic understanding of JavaScript and/or PHP is a plus. Strong eye for layout, typography, spacing, and visual design. Understanding of website usability and user experience. Ability to troubleshoot WordPress and Elementor issues. Experience working with WordPress plugins. Strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple website projects and deadlines. Ability to work independently while collaborating with designers, marketers, and project managers. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Preferred Experience Experience with some or all of the following is preferred: Elementor Pro Adobe Creative Cloud Adobe XD Photoshop Illustrator

What Success Looks Like A successful WordPress Website Designer / Developer at Northbound Studio will be able to take an approved website design and independently turn it into a professional, responsive, and functional WordPress website. The finished website should closely match the original design while also performing well technically and providing a strong experience for the end user. This person should be able to identify problems, troubleshoot solutions, and make thoughtful development decisions without requiring detailed instructions for every step of the project. Success in this role means producing websites that are visually accurate, easy to use, responsive across devices, organized on the back end, and ready to confidently present to clients.
Pay:
From $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
