The ideal candidate will have experience building microservices, working with Kafka for event-driven applications, and developing against PostgreSQL. This is a hands-on development role within a collaborative engineering environment, requiring candidates who are comfortable working in a hybrid setting in the Minneapolis area. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain backend applications and microservices using Java and Kotlin Build and support RESTful APIs and microservices Develop event-driven applications and integrations using Apache Kafka Work with PostgreSQL databases, including application development and data access Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance production applications Collaborate with other software engineers, architects, and technical teams Participate in code reviews, testing, and the full software development lifecycle Contribute to scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend solutions Required Qualifications Strong professional experience with Java Hands-on Kotlin development experience Experience developing microservices Production experience with Apache Kafka Strong experience with PostgreSQL Experience developing backend services and APIs Strong problem-solving and debugging skills Ability to work effectively in a hybrid Minneapolis environment Requirements Must be local to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area Must be open to a hybrid work schedule No C2C No sponsorship available Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship ITR Group offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including medical, dental, and 401(k) for eligible employees.
