Job Summary Purdue Rosen Center for Advanced Computing (RCAC) is looking for an undergraduate or graduate student Web Developer. The ideal candidate should be an excellent communicator who is adept with website content maintenance tasks, including administrative, content management, and design under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Research Software Engineering. As a part of the RCAC Group, the Student Web Developer will help manage the user-facing presence (design, layout, UI, and functionality) of web pages for a range of projects and areas for RCAC. This position will work in Halcyon to manage and update content and create and maintain pages. Including but not limited to updating pages content, updating and creating formatting to support and maintain engaging and user-friendly web pages, and implementing backend development to improve functionality and meet various web project needs. Additional responsibilities related to the role may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications Required:
Experience working in a system like WordPress/Cascade/Halcyon Knowledge and experience in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and/or MySQL Experience and ability to implement web site content and graphics to a high standard. Must be able to work independently to complete projects in a timely manner. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a self-driven work attitude. Strong time management and a willingness to learn new skills and ideas. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong work ethic, and enthusiasm. Knowledge of good web design and layout and ability to implement best practices and maintain continuity of branding. Ability to show current samples of web development work
Preferred:

Applicants should be available to work 10-20 hours per week, typically during the hours of Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Additionally, this position is open to continue during the summer.

This position is remote, but office space is available should the student wish to work on campus
