The Web and Systems Manager leads the strategy, implementation, and management of the California Lawyers Association's web platforms, including the website, Association Management System (AMS), and related technologies. This role oversees the internal Web Team responsible for website management, membership and marketing analytics, and support for virtual and hybrid events, while serving as the primary liaison with the organization's external IT vendor for technology support and day-to-day IT operations. Working closely with staff, leadership, member volunteers, and other stakeholders, the Web and Systems Manager ensures that technology solutions align with organizational goals and that CLA's web platforms effectively support business needs. This position regularly assesses the organization's technology environment to identify risks, security vulnerabilities, and opportunities for improvement, recommends and implements technology solutions, and develops strategic plans for adopting and integrating new systems that enhance organizational effectiveness.Duties and Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development and execution of the organization's IT strategy. Evaluate and implement new technologies to support organizational goals. Develop and maintain IT usage, security, and governance policies. Manage the Association Management System (AMS) and system integrations. Oversee website architecture, functionality, and ongoing enhancements. Establish web content governance, publishing standards, and best practices. Lead web development projects, including intranet and extranet initiatives. Develop, test, maintain, and document web applications. Manage web hosting, servers, domains, DNS, and related infrastructure. Troubleshoot and resolve website and web application issues. Ensure compliance with accessibility (WCAG), security, privacy, and payment standards. Monitor and maintain the security, performance, and availability of web systems. Analyze website, membership, and marketing data to support business decisions. Develop reports and dashboards for membership, email marketing, and web analytics. Plan, prioritize, and manage web and technology projects within budget and established timelines. Evaluate and implement system improvements, upgrades, and security patches. Develop technical documentation, procedures, and organizational best practices. Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers. Develop, monitor, and report on web and IT budgets. Supervise, mentor, and develop Web Team staff, including hiring and performance management. Identify training and professional development opportunities for team members. Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the scope and responsibilities of the position.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five or more years of experience managing websites, web applications, and enterprise technology systems. Experience with Association Management Systems (AMS) and CRM platforms (e.g., re:Members, Higher Logic). Experience supporting virtual, hybrid, and in-person event platforms (e.g., Whova, RD Mobile). Experience with legal technology platforms (e.g., vLex, Clio) preferred. Knowledge of website management (e.g., WordPress), web accessibility (WCAG), cybersecurity, and data privacy best practices. Experience managing technology vendors, budgets, and cross-functional projects. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and team leadership skills.
