Residential Services is an agency that supports individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities in residential programs. We are seeking a safe reliable transportation driver to transport individuals with developmental disabilities to and from day program. Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Non-Medical Transportation Driver and be the vital link that ensures safe, reliable, and friendly transportation for our individuals residing in a group home setting. In this role, you will be operating a van with wheelchair tie downs to transport clients to and from their day program. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help create positive experiences for every passenger, making a real difference in their daily lives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your driving skills and make a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities. Duties Safely operate a wheelchair van or other vehicle to transport individuals to day program in the morning then pick them up and bring them back to the group home in evening Assist passengers with boarding and exiting vehicles, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the journey Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of vehicles to ensure optimal operation and safety standards Communicate clearly with passengers, team members, and dispatchers to coordinate schedules and address any concerns promptly Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to uphold a high standard of driving excellence Conduct pre-trip inspections, report vehicle issues, and document trips mileage and gas accurately in logs. Provide excellent customer service by being friendly, approachable, and attentive to passenger needs Show patience and understanding to individuals with intellectual disabilities. Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is a must ; experience with shuttle driving, bus driving, or driving wheelchair vans preferred High school diploma or GED required Must be at least 21 years of age for insurance purposes. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with passengers and team members Ability to perform some lifting when assisting passengers or handling wheelchairs, walkers, etc. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics to identify issues early and ensure safety compliance Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, punctuality, and customer satisfaction Must be able to handle multiple stops efficiently while maintaining professionalism under pressure Being reliable and punctual is very important to this position since the individuals need to be able to get to program on time. May be asked to bring vans for maintenance as needed. Schedule is a split shift Monday-Friday 7a-9a and 1:30p-3:30p= 20hrs/ week Join us as a Non-Medical Transportation Driver and become a key part of a dedicated team committed to providing reliable transportation services to individuals with disabilities.
