TRANSPORTATION FOREMAN

Transportation Classified Job Number 2300290177 Start Date Open Date 05/05/2026 Closing Date The duties include, but are not limited to: Assists coordinator in personnel functions and in securing, maintaining and managing material resources. Assists coordinator with staff scheduling and planning professional development of transportation staff. Plans, develops, and implements an operational safety plan for the Transportation Department. Assists Coordinator in communicating and clarifying the Transportation Department's mission to students, staff, and community. Assists Coordinator to ensure all local, state, and federal laws and board policies are being met in all transportation department operations. Assists Coordinator in preparing and administering the Transportation Department's budget and supervising departmental finances. Supervises transportation staff as designated by the Coordinator. Assists in accident investigation and oversight as determined by the Coordinator. Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the Transportation Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a high school graduate from a regionally accredited school or have GED equivalent. An Associate's Degree and/or eight-years of Transportation Operations experience is preferred. Must possess a minimum of eight (8) years of Edulog Routing Software experience including use of Maris, boundary planning, and bus routing in both graphic and tabular modes, and demonstrate proficiency in the same. Must possess a valid Alabama Commercial Driver's License and State School Bus Driver's Certificate within six months of date of hire. Must have a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and be very detail-oriented. Must possess excellent communication skills for short and long term projects. Must have excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task. Must be a self-starter, performing a wide range of functions without boundaries. Must be insurable as determined by MCPSS personnel, into private and business driving records, within any three (3) year time frame. Duty Days 260

Salary Range:

From/To Beginning pay - $68,685.00 Additional Job Information •Applicants selected for classified positions must undergo (or have undergone) an ABI/FBI criminal history background check (fingerprinting administered through sites selected and approved by the MCPSS and State of Alabama Education Department) and be declared suitable and fit to teach under state law. Applicants selected must also pass a drug-screening test via forms provided by Human Resources during the selection process.•
