Security Officer specializing in Airport Screening to ensure the safety and security of passengers, staff, and airport facilities. Responsibilities Conduct thorough screening of passengers, baggage, and cargo using advanced surveillance and access control systems to prevent prohibited items from entering secure zones. Operate security equipment such as metal detectors, X-ray machines, Taser devices, AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), and firearms handling protocols with precision and confidence. Perform regular patrols of airport terminals, gates, and restricted areas to monitor for suspicious activity or security breaches. Write detailed incident reports documenting any irregularities, security breaches, or emergency situations following established procedures. Manage access control systems by verifying identification, performing background checks when necessary, and maintaining logs of all entries and exits. Respond swiftly to emergencies by executing emergency response procedures including first aid, CPR, AED operation, fire safety protocols, and conflict de-escalation techniques. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during investigations or incident management while ensuring compliance with all security regulations and protocols. Provide excellent customer service by assisting travelers with inquiries while maintaining a firm but courteous security presence. Experience Previous experience in security roles within airports, military settings, law enforcement agencies or related environments is highly desirable. Demonstrated proficiency in surveillance techniques, incident report writing, conflict management, and emergency response procedures. Knowledge of physical security measures including heavy lifting, manual handling, patrolling routines, and access control systems is essential. Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, firearm handling, Taser use, and conflict de-escalation is preferred or must be obtainable upon hire. Ability to perform background checks when required and maintain confidentiality throughout all security processes. Strong understanding of compliance with aviation security regulations and safety standards necessary for safeguarding airport operations.
