• On a continuing basis, ensures Alaska Airlines is properly and adequely organized, staffed and equipped; establishes and conducts adeque training programs; maintains record keeping systems; and facilities and ensures procedures meet all regulory requirements.

The APOI chairs joint Federal Aviion Administrion (FAA) and industry meetings. They maintain regular contact with Alaska Airlines and coordines with top management officials. They require or direct correction of any deficiencies/discrepancies and refuses or withdraws approval if they cannot be resolved. They are responsible for conducting enforcement investigions and preparion of final reports and recommendion on disposition. They coordine minimum equipment list (MEL) approvals with the SPOI and takes enforcement action in instances of noncompliance with the MEL. The APOI coordines with inspectors for the accomplishment of non-routine air carrier surveillance. Certificion

• The APOI approves/accepts or disapproves/rejects manuals and revisions to such manuals.

They may require amendments to previously approved manuals to accomplish the following: correct any conflict with regulory requirements; elimine unsafe practices: and/or improve the specificity of instruction. The APOI evalues training programs to ensure th they meet the requirements of 14 CFR. They approve or disapprove these training programs including flight simulors, training devices, or other such equipment used in these programs. They approve/disapprove designion of check airmen and makes recommendions on the appointment of designees. They evalue operions and facilities by on-site inspections and review the reports by inspectors or others. They determine the approprie methods and/or plans for securing corrective action and determines through on-site inspection or inspector reports the effectiveness of any action. The APOI approves the original issuance of flight oversight specificions. The approve amendments to flight oversight specificions. They evalue the safety of proposed changes in route or airport authorizions; prescribes any changes required before approval. They direct or participe in flight evaluions to determine compliance with 14 CFR and recommends changes th required prior to approval. Surveillance

• The APOI is responsible for monitoring all phases of flight oversight including training programs and records, base and stion facilities, and route systems.

They coordine with and review reports from inspectors and others to identify trends which indice deteriorion in the safety of operions. The direct or suggest changes required to correct such trends. They are responsible for monitoring the activities of designed examiners, check airmen, and instructors. The APOI performs other duties as assigned. At least one year of pilot experience in multi-engine aircraft of more than 12,500 pounds maximum certificed takeoff weight. b. Three years of experience working in an organizion with an air carrier, commercial operor, or air agency certifice,an organizion whose work led to the certificion of individual airmen, or an organizion th opered aircraft. At least one year of this experience must be with an organizion th opered multi-engine aircraft of more than 12,500 pounds maximum takeoff weight. c. Minimum 1,500 total flight hours. d. Must hold a valid Airline Transport Pilot Certifice. e. Not more than two flying accidents during the last five years in which the applicant's pilot error was involved.

Specialized experience is defined as:
