Under supervision of the Transportation Manager, operate a school bus over designated urban and suburban roads; transporting students safely and efficiently to and from school and special events; and to do other related work as directed and per job description. Maintain buses in a clean condition; wash buses; maintain good order among students on the buses; operate a two-way radio; perform daily safety inspection of vehicles; fuel vehicles; administer first aid to students. •REQUIRED:
Clean DMV driving record. Possession of a valid California Class A or B Commerical Driver's License with all unrestricted endorsements (school bus, air brake, passenger). Successful completion of the Driving and First Aid examinations for school bus drivers given by the California Highway Patrol. California School Bus Driver Certificate. Post-Offer/Pre-Placement Assessment, Fingerprints, and TB test required upon initial employment.Knowledge of:
Safe driving practices and techniques; effective oral and written communication skills; provisions of California Motor Vehicle Code, California Ed Code, and current district regulations; basic preventative maintenance requirements of automotive equipment, First Aid and CPR.- Ability to: Drive a school bus safely and efficiently; maintain order among students; read and follow street maps; conduct bus evacuation training; adapt to unanticipated change of route; complete district training programs.
Desirable:
