School Bus Driver Job Summary We are seeking a responsible and dedicated School Bus Driver to ensure the safe and reliable transportation of students to and from school. The ideal candidate will be committed to passenger safety, adhere to transportation regulations, and demonstrate excellent student management skills. This paid position offers an opportunity to contribute to the safety and well-being of students while maintaining a professional driving environment. Responsibilities Safely operate school buses according to established routes, schedules, and traffic laws. Comply with all transportation safety regulations, including state and local commercial driving laws. Ensure the safety of passengers by following passenger safety protocols at all times. Manage student behavior during transit to maintain a disciplined and safe environment. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure vehicle safety and readiness. Respond appropriately to emergency situations, including accidents or medical emergencies, following emergency response procedures for transportation. Provide basic first aid if necessary until professional medical help arrives. Maintain accurate records of routes, schedules, and any incidents that occur during transit. Skills Valid commercial driver's license with appropriate endorsements for school bus operation. Knowledge of transportation safety regulations and state/local driving laws. Experience working with children and managing student behavior effectively. Strong understanding of passenger safety procedures. Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Good communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and school staff. Attention to detail for vehicle inspections and record keeping. Commitment to maintaining a safe, disciplined, and positive environment during transit.
Pay:
$56.00 - $69.00 per day
