Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and responsible School Bus Driver to join our team. In this vital role, you will ensure the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Your positive attitude and excellent communication skills will help create a secure environment for our students while providing exceptional customer service to families and school staff. Duties Safely operate school buses, transit buses, or paratransit vehicles according to established routes and schedules Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and emergency equipment Follow all traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations at the local, state, and federal levels Maintain discipline onboard by implementing student conduct policies in accordance with school policies Respond quickly to traffic changes or emergencies with appropriate emergency response procedures for transportation Communicate effectively with dispatchers, school personnel, parents, and students using clear language and professional demeanor Complete accurate logs of trips, incidents, maintenance issues, and other required documentation Experience Proven experience driving school buses or commercial vehicles Knowledge of traffic laws, emergency stop procedures, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations Experience working with children or in educational environments is highly preferred Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for school bus operation Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities Familiarity with student discipline strategies and behavior management techniques Join us to make a difference in students' lives by providing safe, reliable transportation that supports their educational journey.
