Job Summary Join our team as a School Bus Driver and become a vital part of ensuring safe, reliable transportation for students. Responsibilities Safely operate a school bus according to established routes and schedules. Ensure passenger safety by following transportation safety regulations, vehicle codes, and emergency response procedures. Assist students with boarding and disembarking, including providing wheelchair assistance and managing behavior to maintain discipline. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to verify operational safety, including checking brakes, lights, signals, and emergency equipment. Respond quickly to traffic changes or unexpected delays by adjusting routes or communicating with dispatch as needed. Maintain clear communication with students, parents, school staff, and supervisors to ensure smooth daily operations. Follow all traffic laws, state and local commercial driving laws, and school policies while driving. Complete accurate logs of trips, incidents, or maintenance needs; report any vehicle issues immediately. Experience Proven experience in bus driving, commercial driving, or transit bus operation is preferred. Prior work with children or in educational transportation settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of traffic laws, emergency response procedures for transportation, vehicle codes, and safety regulations is essential. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory if qualified under local laws. Certification in first aid and CPR is required. Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are an advantage for diverse communities. From $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 20.0 per week
