Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and responsible Bus Driver to join our transportation team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers, including students, seniors, or community members, along designated routes while ensuring their safety and comfort. Your enthusiasm and commitment to safety will help foster a positive travel experience for all riders. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community by providing reliable and courteous transportation services. Responsibilities Safely operate various types of vehicles including transit buses or paratransit vans in accordance with traffic laws and transportation safety regulations. Follow designated routes accurately while adhering to schedules and responding quickly to traffic changes or unexpected delays. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, including providing wheelchair assistance and supporting individuals with mobility challenges. Ensure passenger safety by enforcing behavior management policies and maintaining order onboard. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety issues, including checking vehicle codes and emergency stop procedures. Communicate effectively with passengers, colleagues, and dispatchers. Maintain accurate safety checks and incident reports as required by company policies and local laws. Uphold high standards of customer service by creating a welcoming environment for all riders. Qualifications CDL preferred but not required to apply. We will help you obtain it if needed. Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, transportation safety regulations, and state/local commercial driving laws. Ability to respond effectively during emergencies. Strong communication skills Ability to perform bending and twisting to secure wheelchairs. Excellent writing skills for documentation purposes; ability to follow detailed instructions accurately. Pay:
From $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
