Job Summary Join our team as a CDL School Bus Driver and become a vital part of ensuring safe, reliable transportation for students and community members. In this energetic role, you will operate school buses and transit vehicles, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations while providing excellent customer service. Your dedication will help foster a positive, secure environment for passengers of all ages, especially children and individuals requiring special assistance. Responsibilities Safely operate school buses, transit buses, and paratransit vehicles in accordance with all traffic laws and transportation safety regulations Transport students, staff, and community members efficiently while ensuring passenger safety at all times Assist passengers with wheelchair boarding, disembarking, and provide wheelchair assistance as needed Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including emergency stop procedures and vehicle codes Maintain communication with dispatchers and traffic control to respond quickly to traffic changes or unexpected situations Enforce student discipline policies and promote positive behavior management during trips Conduct pre-trip inspections, vehicle checks, and routine maintenance reports to ensure vehicle safety and compliance Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for school bus operation Proven experience in bus driving, including school bus driving, transit bus operation or paratransit services Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, transportation safety regulations, and state/local commercial driving laws Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for diverse communities Experience working with children or senior care is highly desirable Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for passenger assistance or vehicle maintenance tasks Excellent behavior management skills to handle student discipline effectively and professionally Join us in creating a safe, welcoming environment where every ride counts!
